NEW ORLEANS (AP) — French Quarter business owners say they’re losing customers because film productions have taken over the area.
About 18 productions are filming in New Orleans, and the film companies pay to close streets and block off parking spots, WDSU-TV reported.
Linda Keenan, who owns California Drawstrings, says January was her worst month for business in more than 25 years. Film productions took up parking on the entire block near her business for 40 days, she said.
Multiple films are shooting at the same time near the same spot, city spokesman Beau Tidwell said.
