A key welterweight showdown is set to tip the marquee on Saturday night in Las Vegas when former unified champion Keith Thurman makes his return to face a rising Mario Barrios on FOX PPV. Thurman, 33, will make the walk to the ring for the first time since a July 2019 decision loss to Manny Pacquiao in which he was dropped twice. Thurman dropped the WBA title in the process after previously owning the WBC strap as well.
Barrios, meanwhile, moves up to 147 after going toe to toe with Gervonta “Tank” Davis in his last fight when he was stopped in the 11th round. He looks to bounce back from his first professional defeat on Saturday night where he was enjoy height and reach advantages over his veteran foe.
