The final opportunity for high school prospects to lock up scholarships and formally sign National Letters of Intent begins Wednesday with the traditional National Signing Day for the Class of 2022. While a vast majority of the nation’s top players made their college decisions during the early signing period in December, there’s still a number of big-time prospects who will make announcements Wednesday.

There it is. Clemson for four-star defensive lineman Caden Story. Props to new defensive tackles coach Nick Eason for bringing in the blue chip lineman and helping the Tigers secure a key piece of the 2022 class.
“Great coaching staff, great facility, the Paw Journey, so much help outside of football and the way they develop their players,” Story told 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong.
The “Paw Journey” has always been a part of Clemson’s player development program, but now they’ve folded the new NIL opportunities into that off-field education. It’s interesting to here that mentioned specifically, as Dabo Swinney made a point back in August to say they would support their players’ NIL opportunities through that program.

We’re about 15 minute away from the commitment of four-star DL Caden Story on CBS Sports HQ. He’s down to Clemson, Florida and Auburn, with the battle likely between Dabo Swinney and Billy Napier. Here’s what 247Sports’ Cooper Petagna has to say about what either the Tigers or Gators will be getting with his commitment:
“Versatile defensive lineman that has the ability to play multiple positions on the defensive line depending on scheme. More than likely projects as an interior lineman at the next level with some situational perimeter pass-rush ability. Possesses athletic upside to develop into at the next level and projects as a high performing multi-year starter at a Power Five program at the collegiate level.”

Texas A&M holding down the No. 1 spot in the team rankings as we start the day. It’s not 100 percent locked, but it’s highly likely that the Aggies will hold that position through the day. The only real drama seems to be how Jimbo Fisher’s 2022 class stacks up against the best classes of all time. Texas A&M is in the mix for five-star LB Harold Perkins and five-star DL Shemar Stewart, and landing both of those — plus four-star safety Jacoby Matthews — could give Jimbo the highest-rated class of the recruiting rankings era.
