A deep running back class and the offensive linemen will be in the spotlight on the second day of the on-field workouts at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
The big names like Iowa State’s Breece Hall, Michigan State’s Ken Walker, and Texas A&M’s Isaiah Spiller will be put through the gamut on drills, so we’ll get a sense of how those three feature back types compare athletically. Looking forward to that.
In the trenches, we unfortunately won’t get to see Alabama’s Evan Neal run after decided to wait until his pro day on March 30 to demonstrate to everyone how much of an athletic freak he is at 337 pounds. At the podium earlier in the week, he looked like 227 pounds. No one carries that weight as well as he does.

Lecitus Smith is another one of the mid-round guards I really like (I like a lot of them). Love how effortless his knee bend his and how he’s rarely lunging at defenders. Plenty of experience too. Great pop in his punch.

Yes! Chris Paul! Him too. Tyler Smith had buzz as a possible first-round OT, but Paul’s film was right up with Smith’s in my opinion. He’s just not as big and long as his Tulsa teammate. Great workout tonight.

Linderbaum is the most athletic center I’ve ever scouted… he does need to improve his power and anchor in pass pro. That should come with time as he adds weight to that 296-pound frame.

Official time came in and this 40-yard dash run from Kentucky OT Dare Rosenthal is the fastest by an OL this year at 4.88 seconds.

Respectable time from Chattanooga’s Cole Strange as well. He burst on to the scene when the Mocs played Kentucky early in the season. Strange was holding his own against a few Wildcats in attendance this weekend: DLs Joshua Paschal and Marquan McCall.

Raimann is a former tight end from Austria, still learning the position but the obvious athleticism has led to him being a popular first-round projection. He will turn 25 years old at the start of the 2022 regular season.

Wake Forest’s Zach Tom is a baller. My favorite mid-round versatile blocker. Made the very unusual flip from center in 2019 to left tackle in 2020 and 2021. So quick and balanced

He played left tackle in a heavy run offense. Punishes jumpers. Plays with a meanstreak. Average mobility. Can cut the corner short at times. Drives his feet on contact. I would like to see him adjust his hands to re-anchor, just didn’t have to do that at that level.

I thought he was quick relative to his size but speed gave him problems at tackle. I projected him to guard but love his upside there. I have him as a top 100 type of guy right now.

Parham is a mauler too inside. One of the best anchors I’ve watched on film despite not being a large player. Low center of gravity type.
