With the summer winding down, individuals planning to trip to regional Victoria for a vacation, can benefit from the state’s latest set of travel vouchers.
The Victorian government has declared the issuance of 150,000 travel vouchers to stimulate tourism expenditure, with registration beginning for seniors shortly. All senior residents must have a valid senior business discount card or Victorian senior card to be eligible.
Moreover, the government’s initiative to offer these travel vouchers is part of an AU$200 million business stimulus package to generate employment and boost local economies.

Vouchers distribution
An initial 10,000 vouchers will be offered exclusively for seniors, with the remaining 140,000 vouchers becoming accessible to all Victorians on 23 March.
Both voucher schemes offer an AU$200 reimbursement to customers who spend AU$400 or more on tours, lodging, and activities anywhere in the state. The vouchers will be allocated to one per family and need a minimum two-night stay in paid lodging.
Both travel voucher schemes are valid for travel between 8 April and 27 May.
Over AU$159 million was spent on events, tours, and throughout the state due to the regional and Melbourne travel vouchers with 116,000 claims submitted.

Art After Dark Melbourne in the spotlight
Both travel vouchers could be used concurrently with Melbourne’s new creative and late-night capital event, inspired by Europe’s Night of Museums. The city’s cultural institutions will unite on the dynamic paid and free activities program.
The launch of Art After Dark Melbourne, which is anticipated to infuse millions of dollars into the economy as many tourists descend on Melbourne’s CBD, was proposed by Danny Pearson, Victorian Minister for Creative Industries.
